Shotguns are versatile and great weapons for survival. But did you know that there are guns of this type that hybrid as rifles? One of these is the Savage Model 42 Takedown.
Manufacturer Savage Arms says that this is a must-have for survival, truck, camping, and tactical. It is a combination of a shotgun and rimfire which releases shots with a push of a singular button. Plus, it is very portable so you can transport them anywhere. This combination fires rounds from the top barrel and .410 bore shotgun shells from beneath.
Aside from the hybrid, it also has a simple break-action design, a durable synthetic stock, and matte-black metalwork. Plus, the features include adjustable rifle sights removable to give way for scope base installation, the one-button push, and Uncle Mike’s Go Bag.
The two-shot Savage Model 42 Takedown has a bottom 410 barrel that’s a bit more potent than the top rimfire barrel. The rimfire top shot makes it easier to touch targets at a distance and provides you a precise option for shooting at the mid-range. The barrel allows the shooter to also dispatch medium game with slugs or buckshot. This is ideal for small game as well.
Savage Arms started in the 1890s, and since then has been the ultimate choice for recreational shooting, competitive shooting, hunting, or self-defense.
“The results could not be clearer: Modern firearms stripped of pretense and gimmickry, leaving only muscular, no-nonsense engines of performance. Just like the people who use them. They’re purpose-built firearms that come out of the box bristling with special features you won’t find from other manufacturers,” the official website said.
